Why Gambling Affiliates Fail

Working as a gambling affiliate is not an easy ride. Those who make it are those who work hard and are dedicated. They are willing to learn and adapt. Reports suggest that less than 5% of those who build sites in this industry actually make any money from it. So why do so many fail?

They simply Don’t Work Hard Enough

You have to put the hours in. You must build links and content daily!

    They aim to high.

New affiliates are not going to make money targeting phrases like “online poker”

They don’t understand the niche they are marketing

Try and find a niche that you understand plus have experience of.

        They get distracted

They start with one site but end up with many different unfinished sites.

They follow everybody else like sheep

They use the same style of site (theme) plus target the same niche as the crowd. For example many new affiliates are jumping straight into poker when perhaps poker offers the least long term value of any gambling niche. Gambling is evolving into many profitable sub niches which are not being exploited by the masses.

            They know it all

They don’t have the confidence to try something new because they have had limited success with old methods which they believe will pay off long term.

              They Want Instant success

Building a successful site takes time. Many new affiliates expect success in a few months.

                They kill their sites

They take the easy option of selling many links on their homepage then wonder why their rankings drop.

                  They Work With Poor Operators

New affiliates are prone to start pushing poor operators who spend little on marketing or eventually go bust.

They fall in love with their own sites

Many new affiliates build sites that are awful as they are poorly designed, not optimised for conversions plus in many cases contain pages of poor content. Even though others will point out these flaws, they believe their sites are the nuts. As a new affiliate perhaps one of the best tips I can give you is to post your site on an affiliate forum for critique. Be prepared to see your baby ripped to shreds but take note of the critique plus of course act on it.

I could write 10 more reasons why new affiliates fail or perhaps even more. I will be honest and say I have made some of the mistakes listed above as have many affiliates who have gone on to make a small fortune.
