Looking at new start ups in the gambling affiliate industry it amazes me how many are targeting the poker affiliate niche. To me this is complete madness. Not only is the poker niche more saturated than ever before but also the rewards for RMPs are at an all time low. This year we have already seen many skins go bust, changes to the qualifying requirements for CPA from Stars and Full Tilt plus now even Bodog and UB (spit, vomit) cutting back on commission. I believe the poker affiliate niche is at an all time low with perhaps much more misery to come.

Many believe the answer is to target the smaller sites, but let’s be honest; many of these are piss poor with smaller marketing budgets than many affiliates. Sorry but I would be ashamed and embarrassed to market some of these new skins to my database of players. I simply can’t see the value in the poker affiliate niche at the minute, especially for those new to the gambling affiliate industry. I made the decision over a year ago to move out of the poker sector into new emerging niches that are simply easier to target plus better still, very profitable.

So here is my forecast for the remainder of 2010 for the poker affiliate niche. More skins going busto! More tightening up by the operators squeezing every penny they can from poker affiliates. None of the new poker site start ups getting even close to being established.

For those just starting out in the world of poker affiliation I wish you good luck because you are going to bloody need it!
